What data we collect

When you book, we collect the name of the person booking, email address, phone number, postal address, number of guests, and the dates and price of the booking. To prevent abuse, we also store the IP address of the device used to make the booking.

The site uses cookieless visitor analytics (Vercel Web Analytics), which stores nothing on your device and does not identify individual visitors. Only anonymous, statistical events are collected about the booking calendar, such as the number and timing of selected nights.

Payment details are processed by our payment provider Stripe. We do not store card details in our own systems.

The site uses Vercel Analytics for visitor statistics; it does not use cookies or collect data that identifies individual visitors.

How the data is used

The data is used to fulfil the booking: sending the confirmation and receipt, communicating about the stay, and handling cancellations and refunds. The legal basis is the performance of a contract.

In addition, data is retained to the extent required by the Finnish Accounting Act, in which case the legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation. Contact details may also be used to resolve possible damage or compensation cases, in which case the legal basis is legitimate interest.

We do not use the data for marketing and do not share it with third parties beyond the processing described below.

Processors and data transfers

We use the following service providers that process data on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database).

Some of these providers process data outside the EU, including in the United States. Transfers are protected with safeguards approved by the EU, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Booking and payment records are retained as accounting material for six years from the end of the financial year, as required by the Finnish Accounting Act.

Other data is deleted when it is no longer needed for its purpose.

Cookies

The site does not use marketing or tracking cookies. When paying for a booking, Stripe's checkout page uses cookies that are strictly necessary for processing the payment.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, request rectification or erasure, and request restriction of processing to the extent that statutory retention obligations do not prevent it.

Requests can be sent to petri@frans.fi. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman of Finland (tietosuoja.fi).
